ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,595,005, issued on April 7, was assigned to Magna Exteriors Inc. (Aurora, Canada).
"Modular and scalable active rear diffusor" was invented by Braendon R. Lindberg (Metamora, Mich.) and Martin Robert Matthews (Troy, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An active rear diffuser for a rear portion of a vehicle. The rear diffuser assembly is formed from a set of components that are uniform across all vehicle platforms, with some of the components being scalable and allowing them to be adjusted to an appropriate length without any retooling."
The patent was filed on Oct. 13, 2021, under Application No. 18/028,144.
