US Patent Issued to Lutron Technology on July 14 for "Two-wire dimmer with improved zero-cross detention" (American, British Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,684,663, issued on July 14, was assigned to Lutron Technology Co. LLC (Coopersburg, Pa.).

"Two-wire dimmer with improved zero-cross detention" was invented by William Zotter (Coopersburg, Pa.), Bingrui Yang (Cupertino, Calif.) and Henry Kite (Cambridge, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A two-wire lighting control device, may include a controllably conductive device, a signal generation circuit, and a filter circuit. The controllably conductive device may apply an AC line voltage to a load, being conductive for a first duration of time and non-conductive for a second duration of time within a half-cycle of the AC line voltage....
