ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,600,887, issued on April 14, was assigned to LORD Corp. (Cary, N.C.).
"One-part adhesive for thermoplastic urethanes" was invented by Brian Carney (Erie, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A one-part adhesive including a grafted phenoxy resin, a polymaleimide compound, an organic carbonate, and an optional silane adhesion promoter is described. More particularly, the grafted phenoxy resin includes carboxylic acid and acrylate ester functionality. Methods of using adhesives to bond a thermoplastic urethane to a rigid substrate, e.g., in an injection or compression molding process, are also described."
