ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,691,855, issued on July 28, was assigned to Lippert Components Inc. (Mishawaka, Ind.).
"Trailer panic braking assist" was invented by Adam Buchanan (South Lyon, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method and device for improving trailer brake response during a hard braking event by identifying unnecessary attenuation of a trailer braking signal, and responding by boosting the trailer braking signal."
The patent was filed on July 2, 2024, under Application No. 18/761,430.
