US Patent Issued to LG Display on May 19 for "Foldable display device" (South Korean Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,632,087, issued on May 19, was assigned to LG Display Co. Ltd. (Seoul, South Korea).

"Foldable display device" was invented by YongSeok Lee (Seoul, South Korea), HyukJoon Yoon (Goyang-si, South Korea) and Youngki Song (Paju-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A foldable display device includes a display panel in which at least a partial area includes a transparent display panel; and a floating screen connected to the display panel and reflecting an image displayed on the display panel. Therefore, a foldable display device which uses a floating screen and a display panel to display an image has more three-dimensional effect."
