ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,558,263, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to Lensar Inc. (Orlando, Fla.).

"Laser methods and systems for addressing, mitigating and reversing presbyopia" was invented by Gary P. Gray (Orlando, Fla.) and E. Valaski Teuma (Orlando, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods for performing laser operations to improve the accommodative amplitude of an eye. Systems methods and laser delivery patterns and operation for structural pillars in the lens of the eye to permit deformation of laser effected areas of the lens that are adjacent to the pillars."
