US Patent Issued to KIDDE FIRE PROTECTION on June 23 for "Calibration of an optical detector using a micro-flow chamber" (Connecticut Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,663,372, issued on June 23, was assigned to KIDDE FIRE PROTECTION LLC (Bradenton, Fla.).

"Calibration of an optical detector using a micro-flow chamber" was invented by Urcan Guler (Avon, Conn.) and David L. Lincoln (Cromwell, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of calibrating an optical detector includes installing a calibration system within at least one sensing volume of the optical detector, filling a chamber of the calibration system with a material to achieve a known obscuration, and measuring an obscuration of the material within the chamber."

The patent was filed on Sept. 11, 2023, under Application No. 18/464,598.
