ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,589,074, issued on March 31, was assigned to Kenvue Brands LLC (Summit, N.J.).
"Tablets having discontinuous coated regions" was invented by Harry Sowden (Glenside, Pa.), Gerard McNally (Berwyn, Pa.) and Der-Yang Lee (Flemington, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A dosage form comprising a tablet core and one or more discontinuous coated regions in various configurations on the surface of the dosage form is disclosed. A method for making the dosage form is also disclosed."
