ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,686,973, issued on July 21, was assigned to Kemira Oyj (Finland).

"Aqueous ethyl cellulose dispersion" was invented by Jaakko Hiltunen (Espoo, Finland) and Tarja Turkki (Espoo, Finland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "There is provided an aqueous dispersion comprising 40-90 wt-% ethyl cellulose and 10-50 wt-% at least one plasticizer, and to a film having water barrier property produced from the dispersion. Additionally, there is provided a fiber based substrate comprising at least one film layer produced from the aqueous dispersion."

The patent was filed on Dec. 16, 2021, under Application No. 18/266,857.
