US Patent Issued to KDDI on July 14 for "Mesh decoding device, mesh decoding method, and program" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,684,150, issued on July 14, was assigned to KDDI Corp. (Tokyo).

"Mesh decoding device, mesh decoding method, and program" was invented by Koki Kishimoto (Fujimino, Japan) and Kei Kawamura (Fujimino, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mesh decoding device 200 according to the present invention includes a circuit, wherein the circuit: subdivides a base mesh and output an initial subdivided mesh; calculates a normal for each vertex forming the initial subdivided mesh; and adjusts a subdivided mesh by dividing a subdivided face after moving a position of the vertex forming a face of the initial subdivided mesh."
