ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,624,214, issued on May 12, was assigned to Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. (Jacksonville, Fla.).
"Polymerizable absorbers of UV and high energy visible light" was invented by Shivkumar Mahadevan (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Dawn D. Wright (St. Augustine, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described are polymerizable high energy light absorbing compounds. The compounds absorb various wavelengths of ultraviolet and/or high energy visible light and are suitable for incorporation in various products, such as biomedical devices and ophthalmic devices."
The patent was filed on Oct. 19, 2023, under Application No. 18/489,902.
