ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,691,937, issued on July 28, was assigned to Jerry Edwards (Portland, Ore.).

"Nested gas spring assembly" was invented by Ryan Monroe (Gresham, Ore.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A nested gas spring assembly, device, and system including a first housing with a first hollow cavity for receiving a first gas spring rod. The first rod includes a second housing therein with a second hollow cavity for receiving a second gas spring rod that is biased in an opposite direction from the first rod."

The patent was filed on Jan. 24, 2025, under Application No. 19/036,240.
