ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,599,661, issued on April 14, was assigned to Jaw-Ming Cherng (Yilan County, Taiwan).

"Immunogenic compositions of hepatitis c virus and uses thereof" was invented by Jaw-Ming Cherng (Yilan County, Taiwan) and Jonathan Cherng (Cambridge, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for preparing an immunogenic composition, which comprises treating HCV pseudoparticles with Alpha2-3,6,8,9 neuraminidase A to generate the immunogenic composition. In addition, the immunogenic compositions are made in vaccines for eliciting an immune response to HCV in a subject."

The patent was filed on Dec. 12, 2022, under Application No. 18/064,299.
