US Patent Issued to Intervet on June 23 for "Canine parvovirus" (Dutch Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,395, issued on June 23, was assigned to Intervet Inc. (Rahway, N.J.).

"Canine parvovirus" was invented by Jacqueline Pearce (Boxmeer, Netherlands).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a live attenuated parvovirus for use in the protection of an animal against parvovirus infection. The invention further relates to vaccines comprising the live attenuated parvovirus as well as methods for their production."

The patent was filed on Nov. 3, 2021, under Application No. 18/250,761.
