ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,552,864, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to INTERVET INC. (Rahway, N.J.).

"Caninized antibodies to human CTLA-4" was invented by Mohamad Morsey (Omaha, Neb.), Yuanzheng Zhang (Somerset, N.J.) and Ian Tarpey (St. Ives, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides caninized anti-human CTLA-4 antibodies that have specific sequences and a high binding affinity for canine CTLA-4. The invention also relates to use of these antibodies in the treatment of cancer in canines and other companion animals."
