ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,562,225, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to International Business Machines Corp. (Armonk, N.Y.).

"Hybrid memory for neuromorphic applications" was invented by Juntao Li (Cohoes, N.Y.), Kangguo Cheng (Schenectady, N.Y.), Carl Radens (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) and Ruilong Xie (Niskayuna, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A memory device is provided. The memory device includes a ReRAM memory element, and a PCM memory element that is electrically connected in parallel with the ReRAM memory element."

The patent was filed on Sept. 10, 2021, under Application No. 17/472,145.
