"Optical waveguide edge coupling within a substrate" was invented by Dilan Seneviratne (Chandler, Ariz.), Whitney Bryks (Tempe, Ariz.), Ala Omer (Phoenix), Jieying Kong (Chandler, Ariz.), Sarah Blythe (Phoenix) and Bainye Francoise Angoua (Phoenix).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments described herein may be related to apparatuses, processes, and techniques directed to dense integration of PICs in a substrate using an optical fanout structure that includes waveguides formed within a substrate to optically couple with the PICs at an edge of the substrate...
