ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,716, issued on June 30, was assigned to Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.).

"Vacuum-assisted electroporation devices, and related systems and methods" was invented by Paul Fisher (Fallbrook, Calif.), Andrea Kemme (San Diego), Eric Schade (San Diego), Jay McCoy (Temecula, Calif.), Kate Broderick (San Diego) and Alison A. Generotti (Ocean City, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device for vacuum-assisted in vivo electroporation of tissue includes a housing that defines a chamber and at least one opening into the chamber. A port extends through the housing, is remote from the at least one opening, and is connectable...
