ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,623,806, issued on May 12, was assigned to Illinois Tool Works Inc. (Glenview, Ill.).

"Method for applying labels or ink to target objects without post-application curing" was invented by Michael B. Colella (Manchester, Conn.), Carlos G. Altamirano (Manchester, Conn.), Jorge Lima (Manchester, Conn.), Luigi Filippino (Padua, Italy) and Lee R. B. Dixon (Cramlington, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods for applying a label and may include applying a label and/or ink to form at least part of artwork, graphic, or indicia on a surface of a target object without applying a curing energy to the one or more of the label or the ink...
