ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,736, issued on June 23, was assigned to Illinois Tool Works Inc. (Glenview, Ill.).
"Systems, methods, and apparatus to preheat welding wire" was invented by Dennis Roland Sigl (Greenville, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems, methods, and apparatus to preheat weld wire are disclosed. An example contact tip includes: an inner bore configured to conduct current to a consumable welding electrode; screw threads on an exterior of the contact tip; and a head opposite the screw threads on an exterior of the contact tip to enable threading and dethreading of the contact tip."
