ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,597,313, issued on April 7, was assigned to IGT (Las Vegas).

"Wagering on events in a streaming environment" was invented by Dwayne R. Nelson (Las Vegas), Kevin Higgins (Reno, Nev.) and Anthony Baerlocher (Henderson, Nev.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods that enable a first user to place one or more wagers in association with a game being played by a second user and streamed by a live streaming platform."

The patent was filed on Dec. 21, 2022, under Application No. 18/085,789.
