ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,552,805, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to IDEMITSU KOSAN Co. LTD. (Tokyo).

"Compound and organic electroluminescent element" was invented by Yuki Nakano (Sodegaura, Japan), Ryota Takahashi (Sodegaura, Japan), Yoshinao Shirasaki (Sodegaura, Japan) and Yu Kudo (Sodegaura, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A compound represented by the following formula (1), wherein at least one of Ra to Rd is a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl-2-yl group; and at least one of Ra to Rd has a specific substituent."

The patent was filed on Feb. 19, 2021, under Application No. 17/800,221.
