ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,492, issued on June 23, was assigned to ICU Medical Inc. (San Clemente, Calif.).
"Sanitizing caps for medical connectors" was invented by Thomas F. Fangrow (Mission Viejo, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Antiseptic caps that can be used to disinfect and/or protect medical connectors are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the antiseptic cap can include a first chamber configured to be removably attached to the medical connector."
The patent was filed on Sept. 15, 2020, under Application No. 17/021,226.
