ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,673,632, issued on July 7, was assigned to HYUNDAI MOBIS Co. LTD. (Seoul, South Korea).
"Airbag cushion" was invented by Seok Min Lee (Yongin-si, South Korea), Dong Young Kim (Hwaseong-si, South Korea) and Dong Joon Lee (Goyang-si, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is an airbag cushion including: an airbag cushion deployed downward from a roof within a vehicle cabin toward the front of a passenger; and a pocket portion having a concave space formed in a portion of the airbag cushion on which the passenger's head is supported."
