ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,638,068, issued on May 26, was assigned to HYDAC SYSTEMS & SERVICES GMBH (Sulzbach/Saar, Germany).
"Electromechanical cylinder" was invented by Michael Scheidt (Riegelsberg, Germany) and Felix Anton Schwarz (Saarbrucken, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure relates to an electromechanical cylinder with a screw drive which converts the introduced motor torque of an electric motor into a linear movement for an actuating part, wherein at least one force acting on the actuating part is detected by means of a sensor device."
