ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,643,182, issued on June 2, was assigned to Hojeonable Inc. (Daejeon, South Korea).

"Light-absorbing epoxy film and manufacturing method thereof" was invented by Jong Tae Moon (Gyeryong-si, South Korea) and Kwang Mo Jung (Gunpo-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Proposed is an epoxy flux film that is to be positioned between a semiconductor substrate and a device and is heated and pressed without addition of an additional flux. Thus, device-substrate soldering and sealing are simultaneously performed, and interference of light reflected from the solder can be reduced."
