US Patent Issued to Hoffmann-La Roche on Sept. 22 for "Multistep final filtration" (German Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,742,003, issued on Sept. 22, was assigned to Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. (Branchburg, N.J.).

"Multistep final filtration" was invented by Roberto Falkenstein (Munich) and Klaus Schwendner (Weilheim, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Herein is reported a method for the final filtration of concentrated polypeptide solutions comprising the combination of two immediately consecutive filtration steps with a first filter of 3.0 micro metre and 0.8 micro metre pore size and a second filter of 0.45 micro metre and 0.22 micro metre pore size."

The patent was filed on Dec. 20, 2023, under Application No. 18/389,809.
