US Patent Issued to Hitachi Energy on July 14 for "Smart electrical bushing with integrated sensor" (Swiss Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,683,043, issued on July 14, was assigned to Hitachi Energy Ltd (Zurich, Switzerland).

"Smart electrical bushing with integrated sensor" was invented by Ansgar Dais (Obfelden, Switzerland) and Jens Rocks (Freienbach, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Electrical bushing for medium and high voltage, the bushing including a fluid filled insulation volume; a sensor unit in contact with the fluid in the fluid filled insulation volume; wherein the sensor unit is configured to measure a breakdown voltage of the fluid."
