US Patent Issued to HENKEL on July 14 for "Anthracene-9,10-dione derivatives as photoactivators in detergents" (German Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,680,055, issued on July 14, was assigned to HENKEL AG & Co. KGAA (Dusseldorf, Germany).

"Anthracene-9,10-dione derivatives as photoactivators in detergents" was invented by Christian Kropf (Hilden, Germany) and Nadia Ledermann (Duisburg, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Anthracene-9,10-dione derivatives are capable of producing bleach-active species under irradiation of visible light, which lead to an increase of the bleaching power during the washing of textiles."

The patent was filed on Nov. 10, 2022, under Application No. 18/560,997.
