ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,670,563, issued on June 30, was assigned to GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY OF COMMERCE (Gaithersburg, Md.).

"Image recovery apparatus and removing aberrations in an acquired image from imperfect imaging optics" was invented by Ian Bairstow Spielman (North Potomac, Md.) and Emine Altuntas (Germantown, Md.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process for removing aberrations in an acquired image from imperfect imaging optics includes: acquiring an acquired image of an object with an imperfect imaging system that includes an imperfect imaging optic, the acquired image including a plurality of pixels;...
