ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,687,883, issued on July 21, was assigned to Google LLC (Mountain View, Calif.).
"Timestamp synchronization across virtual machines" was invented by Xiaoqin Ma (Los Altos, Calif.) and Enrico Granata (Florence, Mont.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Timestamp synchronization may be performed by determining a time offset between a first virtual machine having a first virtual clock counter of a computing system and a second virtual machine having a second virtual clock counter of the computing system; and adjusting timestamps of traces with timestamps based on the second virtual clock counter according to the time offset."
