US Patent Issued to GLYCOM on June 23 for "HMO production" (Danish Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,691, issued on June 23, was assigned to GLYCOM A/S (Horsholm, Denmark).

"HMO production" was invented by Manos Papadakis (Bronshoj, Denmark).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present inventive concept relates to a genetically modified cell enabled for the production of an oligosaccharide, preferably, an HMO, comprising a recombinant nucleic acid encoding a protein of the MFS superfamily; and methods using said cell for the production the oligosaccharide, preferably an HMO."

The patent was filed on Jan. 22, 2021, under Application No. 17/759,275.
