US Patent Issued to GloFish on Oct. 27 for "Blue transgenic fluorescent ornamental fish" (Texas, Connecticut, Florida Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 27 -- United States Patent no. 12,772,964, issued on Oct. 27, was assigned to GloFish LLC (Earth City, Mo.).

"Blue transgenic fluorescent ornamental fish" was invented by Alan Blake (Austin, Texas), Richard Crockett (Wilton, Conn.) and Adias Nasevicius (Tampa, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to transgenic blue ornamental fish, as well as methods of making such fish by in vitro fertilization techniques.
