ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,586, issued on June 30, was assigned to Glaukos Corp. (Aliso Viejo, Calif.).

"Treatments for ocular surface disorders" was invented by Shawn A. Scranton (Carlsbad, Calif.), Colin Richard Green (Auckland, New Zealand) and Brian Levy (Tampa, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The inventions relate to compounds and compositions comprising connexin modulators and their use in dose regimens for the treatment of non-healing or persistent ocular surface or corneal defects and disorders."
