ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,638,460, issued on May 26, was assigned to GENFIT (Loos, France).

"Method for NASH risk assessment" was invented by Zouher Majd (Ennetieres-En-Weppes, France) and Pierre Chaumat (Fontainebleau, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a new assay to diagnose nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), NASH progression and NASH fibrosis stage."
