ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,692,634, issued on July 28, was assigned to Gehring-Tricot Corp. (Dolgeville, N.Y.).

"Modular attachment system textile with integrally knit slits and manufacturing method thereof" was invented by George Gehring (New Suffolk, N.Y.) and William Brown (Deerfield, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A grid accessory attachment platform with a knitted textile that has a number of spaced slits integrally knit into the textile."

The patent was filed on Feb. 29, 2024, under Application No. 18/591,354.
