ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,554,117, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to GE Infrastructure Technology LLC (Greenville, S.C.).

"Alterable optical structures" was invented by Dhanushkodi Durai Mariappan (Guiderland, N.Y.), Gregory Daniel Dreifus (Troy, N.Y.), Xiaopeng Li (Rexford, N.Y.), James William Bray (Niskayuna, N.Y.) and Greg Alan Radighieri (Sunnyvale, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described herein are alterable optical structures. Also described herein are methods of altering same."

The patent was filed on March 22, 2023, under Application No. 18/188,198.
