ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,577,947, issued on March 17, was assigned to GD ENERGY PRODUCTS LLC (Tulsa, Okla.).
"Junk ring for reciprocating pump" was invented by James Robert Yanus (Tulsa, Okla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A junk ring includes an upstream end, a downstream end, and a tapered outer surface between its upstream end and downstream end. The tapered outer surface extends at an angle relative to the upstream end and relative to the downstream end to allow the junk ring to tilt or tip during installation or removal without getting stuck in a fluid end bore segment."
