US Patent Issued to Ford Global Technologies on June 30 for "Selective privacy mode operation for in-cabin monitoring" (Michigan Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,670,729, issued on June 30, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).

"Selective privacy mode operation for in-cabin monitoring" was invented by Mahmoud Yousef Ghannam (Canton, Mich.) and John Robert Van Wiemeersch (Novi, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for monitoring one or more events in a vehicle includes a time-of-flight sensor configured to generate a point cloud representing an interior of the vehicle.
