US Patent Issued to Ford Global Technologies on June 30 for "Method and system for sealing a fuel filler neck" (Michigan Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,669,101, issued on June 30, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).

"Method and system for sealing a fuel filler neck" was invented by Aed Dudar (Canton, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and systems are presented for diagnosing operation of an evaporative emissions system. The methods and systems include two fuel filler neck valves to control flow of fuel and fuel vapors into and out of a fuel filler neck tube. The two fuel filler neck valves may be biased closed with return springs."
