ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,194, issued on June 23, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).
"Sensor assembly" was invented by Michael Robertson Jr. (Garden City, Mich.), Venkatesh Krishnan (Canton, Mich.), Segundo Baldovino (Novi, Mich.) and Thomas F. Boettger (Dearborn, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An assembly can include a windshield a transparent roof, a transparent reinforcing beam disposed between the windshield and the transparent roof, and a sensor mounted over the transparent reinforcing beam."
The patent was filed on July 26, 2023, under Application No. 18/359,321.
