ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,555,415, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).
"On-vehicle sensor event and location data fusion with rate control and adaptive event thresholding" was invented by Christopher Wolf (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Michael W. Degner (Novi, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A signal is received from a sensor or other controller of the vehicle. A bucket state is incremented responsive to the signal exceeding a signal threshold. An event is generated responsive to the bucket state exceeding a bucket threshold value. The event is sent, in an event message, to a cloud server."
