According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to an oscillation damper which is in particular suitable for wind turbines and which is based on the eddy current principle and is temperature-controlled in such a way that it can not only effectively dissipate the heat generated by the eddy current but can also effectively and self-adjustingly compensate for the damping loss occurring at higher temperatures."
