ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,734,389, issued on Sept. 15, was assigned to Flame Security International Pty Ltd (Kensington, Australia).
"Gel composition" was invented by Ka Wai Fan (Kensington, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Flame retardant gel compositions containing nitrogen-containing blowing agents, phosphorus-containing acids, and compounds to promote the formation of insulating chars are provided. When applied to a substrate, the gels are useful in the reduction and containment of fire."
The patent was filed on Feb. 26, 2025, under Application No. 19/063,920.
