ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,601,558, issued on April 14, was assigned to FISKE BROTHERS REFINING COMPANY (Newark, N.J.).

"Firearm cleaning fluids" was invented by Howard James Haselhuhn (Grosse Ile, Mich.), Syed B. Mehdi (Sylvania, Ohio) and David Birdwell (Toledo, Ohio).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Cleaning fluids and methods are provided for cleaning a firearm. In examples, a firearm cleaning fluid may comprise an emulsion. The emulsion may include ammonium hydroxide and a sulfurized olefin. The sulfurized olefin may be in an amount less than about 30 weight percent based on the total weight of the firearm cleaning fluid."
