ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,588,297, issued on March 24, was assigned to First Solar Inc. (Pheonix, Ariz.).
"Photovoltaic devices including an interfacial layer" was invented by David Eaglesham (Lexington, Mass.) and Peter V. Meyers (Christiansted, Virgin Islands).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A photovoltaic cell can include an interfacial layer in contact with a semiconductor layer."
The patent was filed on June 1, 2021, under Application No. 17/335,874.
