ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,704,410, issued on Aug. 11, was assigned to Fenix Research Corp. (Palo Alto, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system and method are provided for characterizing a laser using a diffraction grating. The system includes a lens that projects diffraction patterns from the diffraction grating as an image of diffraction peaks onto a plane. Optical sensors then sense the diffraction peaks.
