ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,648,611, issued on June 9, was assigned to FAST IP LLC (Lindon, Utah).

"Footbed devices and systems for footwear size adjustment" was invented by Craig Cheney (Lindon, Utah) and Kirk Bassett (Lehi, Utah).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure comprises a footbed or sole portion having surface features that is configured to be flipped over or switched with that of an opposite shoe to differently engage with an adjacent surface and thereby adjust a shoe between smaller and larger dimension orientations."
