ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,576, issued on June 23, was assigned to Evolution Malta Ltd. (St. Julians, Malta).
"Card shoe" was invented by Vitalijs Petrovs (Riga, Latvia) and Raivis Rengelis (Riga, Latvia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A card shoe and a method of manufacturing the card shoe. The card shoe includes a housing with an elongated body and a receptacle for receiving playing cards. The housing includes a first plate and a second plate. An opening between the first plate and the second plate for removing the playing cards from the receptacle is adjustable by changing a separation between the first plate and a distal end portion of the second plate."
