ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,494, issued on June 30, was assigned to ESSITY HYGIENE AND HEALTH AKTIEBOLAG (Gothenburg, Sweden).
"Wound dressing" was invented by Patrick Schutz (Hamburg, Germany) and Torsten Schramm (Hamburg, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a wound dressing comprising an absorbent core, the absorbent core comprising a first group of superabsorbent particles characterized in that the superabsorbent particles of the first group are encapsulated in a first water-soluble material. The invention further relates to an absorbent core for such a wound dressing."
